The RMS 'S' Division created during Pre-Independence period, with its Head Quarter at Silchar, covers a Sizable portion of the State of Assam along with the states of TRIPURA, MANIPUR, MIZORAM, NAGALAND & Partially ARUNACHAL PRADESH. The entire region is inhabited by People of multifarious linguistic & Cultural Heritage.
The Mighty Brahmaputra flows along the border of the Division through its length, right from Arunachal in North to Guwahati in the South, Myanmar is in the East of the Division while Bangladesh is in the Western Side.
The entire Barak Valley falls under the jurisdiction of this Division. The physical area of the Division is 1,47, 313 Sq. Kms (approx).
